Free Delivery On All New Bikes and Orders $499/up in Dade! Call Mon-Fri 9AM-6PM 786-636-8192

We need your help. Bike Shops are Essential to Our Community.

Unfortunately, due to Emergency Order 07-20 all of our retail locations and services are closed.  This means we are unable to perform services like tune-ups, tire installs or flat tire repair.   If anyone understands the importance of the bicycle, it's you—our customers. And in these unprecedented times, the role that the bicycle serves in transporting people is more critical than ever.

Here's where you come in.

We need to make sure that Mayor Carlos Gimenez amends Emergency order 07-20 to include an exception for bike shops like ours.  Bike stores should be able to stay open so that essential workers who rely on us for repairs, maintenance, and products can get what they need.

Body

My name is [name] and I'm from [city, state].  Please declare Florida's and Miami-Dade County bike shops as an essential business under Emergency order 07-20.  For many essential workers, the bicycle serves as a primary mode of transportation.  In places where public transportation is no longer a safe option, the bicycle is increasingly being used as a safer alternative.  The cities of Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and New York have already taken this action.  Thank you for your consideration.

Additional Talking Points and Tips

  • From March 1–11 this year, Citi Bike's bikeshare program saw a 67% increase in use compared to the year prior in New York City, meaning more people are choosing biking over other forms of transportation during the pandemic. [Bicycling Magazine]
  • Since 2005, states have seen, on average, a 46% increase in the share of people commuting by bike. [League of American Bicyclists]
  • Personal stories are a powerful way to grab your governor's attention. Share a short story about how you're using your bicycle to stay healthy, commute and maintain social distancing.
